My Journey of Becoming a Software Engineer

Authors

Introduction

Becoming a software engineer has been a journey of self-discovery, continuous learning, and determination. My interest in technology started at a young age, and over the years, it has evolved into a fulfilling career. In this article, I will walk you through my path from my first exposure to coding to where I am now, actively pursuing a career in software development and entrepreneurship.

Early Interests in Technology

My fascination with technology began in my early school years. I was always the curious one, disassembling gadgets and trying to understand their inner workings. As I grew older, I realized that my curiosity could be channeled into software development. The moment I wrote my first line of code, I was hooked. The idea of creating something from scratch, solving problems, and making an impact through technology inspired me to pursue a career in computer science.

Academic Foundations

To lay the groundwork for my career, I decided to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science at Tashkent University of Information Technologies. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I gained a deep understanding of various programming languages, software development methodologies, and data structures. The courses were challenging but immensely rewarding, as they gave me the technical knowledge needed to excel in the field.

As I honed my skills, I also took on several projects that allowed me to apply what I had learned. These projects ranged from simple websites to more complex applications, and they helped me build a solid portfolio. During my university years, I realized that my true passion lay in frontend development, where I could create visually appealing and user-centric interfaces.

Gaining Practical Experience

After graduation, I dove into the professional world of software development. I started my career as a Teacher Assistant at Najot Ta'lim, where I mentored over 100 students in frontend development. Helping students understand complex concepts and guiding them through their projects helped me refine my own knowledge while building my communication skills.

Next, I joined RTECO LLC as a Frontend Developer, where I worked on the "Viva Med" clinic automation program. During this time, I had the opportunity to work with a talented team, improve my problem-solving abilities, and learn the ins and outs of developing large-scale applications. I also successfully identified and resolved bugs in various projects, demonstrating my ability to troubleshoot and find solutions under pressure.

My most recent role at Datagaze LLC allowed me to lead the development of an AI-based employee monitoring program. This experience further expanded my skills, as I worked on integrating facial recognition and automatic time tracking into the product. The success of this project gave me the confidence to pursue more ambitious endeavors.

Pursuing Advanced Knowledge

Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, UK. Specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, I am diving deeper into the cutting-edge technologies shaping the future of software development. The program is challenging but extremely rewarding, and I am excited to apply what I learn to real-world problems.

The Road Ahead

As I continue my journey, I am also exploring opportunities for entrepreneurship. I am currently developing a sustainable moving company that utilizes eco-friendly electric vehicles to reduce the carbon footprint of traditional moving services. In addition, I am working on an app for local restaurants in Cambridge to improve management efficiency. My goal is to leverage technology to create solutions that benefit businesses while making a positive impact on society.

Conclusion

My journey to becoming a software engineer has been full of challenges, learning, and growth. From my early curiosity about technology to my current work in frontend development and entrepreneurship, each step has shaped me into the engineer I am today. I am excited for the future and look forward to continuing to learn, innovate, and contribute to the world of software engineering.
